Gino Sarfatti 1912 - 1984
Gino Sarfatti was born in Venice in 1912. He completed his education in engineering at the University of Genoa. Sarfatti focused his work in the lighting sector and founded Arteluce, which became known as the national and international reference point for the modern architecture movement in lighting. During his life he designed and produced over 400 lamps and continued to research the innovation of design. Sarfatti and Arteluce were winners of numerous awards, including the Compasso d'Oro in 1954 and 1955, and the Honorary Diploma of the Milan Triennale.
